Why choose the KIND guide?

To be knowledgeable in a specialist area requires a combination of advanced qualifications, relevant career and life experience, and ongoing professional development (CPD).

About Us

“Through my own journey of self-discovery and growth; commitment to Education and SEMHW research and 15 years experience working as a qualified primary teacher and private day nursery owner/manager I have developed KIND – four keys to guiding growth, happiness and success.”

Understanding KIND

Knowledge

I truly believe “Knowledge is power.” This is because knowledge is one of the most powerful tools we have; it helps us progress, make informed decisions, and acts as a guide for the future. If life has taught me anything it is that knowledge combined with hard work can make anything possible! Foster a growth mindset and embrace lifelong learning and you will continually acquire knowledge to help you grow.

Intuition

Discovering later on in life the power of trusting your “gut feeling” I have consciously worked to improve my own knowledge and ability to sense my internal bodily states and the emotions associated with these. Interoception is the 8th sensory system that provides information about the internal state of the body, including sensations like hunger, thirst, pain, and emotional states; essentially the bodies “sense of self” and how it feels on the inside. Developing this is considered to be a crucial and foundational element of Emotional Intelligence.

Nurture

Being remembered and referenced by many former students and employees as “Kind”  due to my kind, nurturing nature is an honour. As a long standing advocate of the ‘Kind Effect’ – believing one act of kindness has the power to affect many lives; I continue on my endeavour to empower others through being kind and nurturing. The truth is being kind to myself was never as easy but through commitment to practising self-care and compassion I have transformed my inner critic to a kind friend.

Drive

My “response-ABILITY” (Stephen Covey) is to bridge the gap to happiness and success by growing children/ young people’s, and those who support them, understanding of who they are and how they think, feel, behave and learn. Setting up KIND is proof that as we grow and learn, navigating life’s twists and turns, our dreams can evolve whilst our purpose stays the same. Self-motivation is the driving force behind growth and success.

From our Founder

“This is why through teaching, coaching, mentoring and consultancy I guide and support children and young people, parents/carers and education staff on the importance of fostering a growth mindset and seeing life as a journey not a destination, ultimately improving their motivation and drive to cope with day to day stress; adapting and managing in times of change and uncertainty. Believing that failing to do this means we are not adequately preparing our children and young people for life in a rapidly changing world.”
